ActivitiesOur recreational programs allow children to try new things and enjoy friendly competition in various sports. We encourage basic skill development and sportsmanship while having fun on the fields and courts of Tranquillity. On most evenings after dinner, children enjoy Free Play time during which they can participate in a favorite activity or spend time with friends or siblings in supervised areas.
All campers have the opportunity to be on the Tranquillity Stage throughout the summer. Each session with counselor guidance, campers participate in short skits with their group mates on Stunt Night and write songs about camp to perform with their group during Sing Night. Each Saturday night, campers put on a production in our theater. If campers choose to participate, they rehearse throughout the week to put on productions such as the Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Cinderella, Fiddler on the Roof and more. Campers can take part in our backstage crew, lighting and sound crew or art crew to prepare sets and backdrops for our weekly performances.
Meal TimeChildren have breakfast, lunch and dinner in our beautiful and lively dining room. Campers and staff enjoy Kosher meals served family style. Meals are prepared in our state-of-the-art kitchen by our culinary team. Our chef uses fresh, high-quality ingredients to create delicious and nutritious meals.
To jump start our busy days, breakfast may consist of bananas, yogurt, hot or cold cereal, bread baskets, waffles, French toast, eggs, pancakes, muffins, bagels, and more. Children are offered orange juice, milk (2%) daily and hot chocolate for those cool camp mornings.
After morning activities, children meet in the dining room for lunch. Lunch may be tomato soup and grilled cheese, tuna and egg salad sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, baked ziti, cold cut sandwiches with French fries and more. We always have baskets of bread (white & wheat) salad, vegetables and peanut butter and jelly on the table. There are juice options and chocolate milk at lunchtime and there’s always dessert; fresh fruit, fresh fruit salad, ice cream, fresh baked cookies and more.
Delicious dinners include various pasta dishes, assorted wraps, chicken dishes such as chicken fingers (never processed chicken nuggets) chicken marsala or chicken wings, hamburger & hot dog BBQ with veggy burger options), TY taco night and more! As always, we offer salad, vegetables and peanut butter and jelly during dinner along with water and juice. Dessert is served before the campers head out to Free Play!
We are also able to accommodate those children with food allergies or special food restrictions; Vegetarians, lactose intolerant, gluten free, etc.
